Joshua Conaway was born in Plainview, Texas. After spending the first year of his life in West Texas, his family moved to Farmington, New Mexico, where his dad helped his grandfather run the family oil and gas business.  Growing up in Farmington provided Joshua the opportunity to see good honest people working for a living. In 1994, Joshua graduated from Farmington High School with academic honors. He enrolled at University of New Mexico that fall in order to stay close to the area he considered home. During college he spent one summer working for an oil field service company. This provided him first-hand knowledge of how dangerous working in the oil and gas industry can be. During his second year of college, Joshua made the best decision of his life, when he asked a girl from Albuquerque to marry him. The next year he and Janae were married. Since that time they have been fortunate enough to have 3 perfect children, Parker, Aleigha and Madeline.

Prior to graduating college, Joshua began thinking of how he could help others and give back to the community after college.  Pursuing a legal career seemed to be the best option, so in 2000 Joshua enrolled at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. During his three years at Gonzaga, he organized a student community program which sent law students into Spokane high schools to discuss constitutional law. Joshua spent time during law school clerking for a personal injury firm in Spokane, which handled cases for people injured or killed in catastrophic accidents. It quickly became apparent to Joshua that clients seeking the help of the firm weren’t only interested in a monetary recovery, but also wanted answers about why their loved ones were injured or killed.

In 2003, Joshua graduated with honors from Gonzaga and took a job with Hatch, Allen and Shepherd in Albuquerque. The job allowed him and his family to return to New Mexico.  While at the firm, he handled cases involving oilfield injuries, refinery explosions, and trucking accidents. As a result of his hard work, Joshua was made a partner of the firm in January of 2009, but left the firm toward the end of that year to pursue work representing people injured and killed in accidents.

After spending over a year and a half running his own firm, Joshua jumped at the opportunity to join Sam, Jeff, Richard and the other lawyers in this firm.
